How to Bill a Client Through Stripe

Once your account is set up, this is the exact process every time a quote comes in.

01

Quote request arrives in your email

The client fills out the form on cart.html. Netlify captures it and forwards the details straight to hello.autovix.io@gmail.com. You see exactly what they want — services, budget range, timeline, description, everything.

02

Review the scope and set your price

Read through the request. If you need clarification, email them back directly. Once you know what it involves, decide your price — one-time payment, deposit + balance, or milestone invoices.

03

Open Stripe → Create a new invoice

Stripe Dashboard → Invoices → New Invoice. Enter the client's email address. Add your line items (e.g. "Website Build — 50% Deposit", "Logo Design"). Set the amount.

Dashboard → Invoices → + New Invoice → Add customer email → Add line items → Send
04

Client receives the invoice by email

Stripe sends a professional invoice to the client's email with a secure Pay Now button. They pay by card — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, all accepted. No account needed on their end.

05

Payment confirmed → build begins

Stripe notifies you when payment lands. Funds deposit to your bank account on your payout schedule. You confirm with the client and kick off the project.

Three Ways Stripe Can Work for You

Start with invoicing. Expand later if the business needs it.

Your Flow Now
📨

Stripe Invoicing

Client submits a quote → you scope it → you send a Stripe invoice → they pay by card from their email. Clean, professional, no upfront prices required.

  • No backend code needed
  • You control pricing per project
  • Supports deposits and milestones
  • Professional invoices with your logo
  • Automatic receipts to the client
02
Later Option

Stripe Payment Links

If you add recurring services or standard packages later — create a Stripe product and generate a shareable payment link. No invoice needed.

  • Good for fixed-price packages
  • Share link anywhere — email, site, DM
  • Client pays instantly, no back-and-forth
  • Best for defined, stable offerings
  • Easy to set up in minutes
03

Full Checkout + Portal

When auth is live and clients have accounts — connect the signin portal to Stripe's Customer Portal for full invoice history, billing management, and self-service.

  • Requires auth provider (Supabase/Firebase)
  • Clients see all past invoices
  • Self-service billing management
  • Best for subscription or retainer work
  • Pairs with the built signin.html
